| Our Translation Process First, two translation teams working independently produce two translations of the English source documents in each target language. Next an editor combines the two forward translations into a single consensus translation in the target language. Another team, independent of those conducting the forward translations performs a back translation from the target language into the source language. Our Linguistic Validation Process Before finalizing any of the translations, a linguistic validation with patients representative of the population who will be enrolled in the clinical trial is performed. This linguistic validation consists of a pilot test to evaluate the patient's understanding of the target language in the instructions and questionnaires. Each patient will be interviewed to confirm that his or her answers corresponded to an understanding of the questions as intended by the developers of the questionnaires. Translators are supervised and quality assurance is maintained in accordance with the ISO 9002 standard. Each translation undergoes multiple stages of verification of which human skills are an indispensible component.
